"I don't really have studios. I wander around people's attics, out in fields, in cellars, anyplace I find that invites me." — Andrew Wyeth
Like clockwork comes each day the relentless Decay at Dusk, perhaps nothing more than an invitation to wonder how we get from daybreak to setting sun in the mere blink of a lifetime. Herein reside the worn planks, rusty tin roofs, and placid skies that invite introspection—and the realization that just before the final demise comes a penultimate beauty and wisdom still visible to the naked eye.
Herein weathered structures and fading light merge in muted earth tones—ochre, sage, and charcoal: the colors of quiet contemplation. Herein the hushed beauty of dusk settles over forgotten rural landscapes, where time has etched character into every surface. As a meditation on solitude, decay, and dignified beauty, Decay at Dusk reveals nostalgic reverence for the long-lost grace and enduring strength of rural America—an overture to a symphony of profound stillness and timeless reflection.
