A near-perfect hunting machine, this red-shouldered hawk sits atop a tree in the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, his gaze intent and always alert. Blood around his beak testifies to a recent kill, and he will hunt again soon as the sun drops in the sky. A spectacular portrait of an exquisite raptor.
