Few NYC buildings are more iconic or more architecturally interesting than the Flatiron Building—a stunning example of late Beaux-Arts architecture—located at the triangular intersection of Fifth Avenue, Broadway, and E23rd Street, just across from Madison Square Park, original site of Madison Square Gardens.
My award-winning homage to this wonderful NYC landmark is the first of three separate limited-edition fine art photographs captured over several days back in the late spring of 2012, and recently refinished in dramatic B&W with luxurious gray tones and deep rich blacks.
Flatiron 1 was captured in the late morning from directly across E23rd Street at the SW corner of Madison Square Park, original site of Madison Square Gardens. It makes a powerful statement on any wall, an award-winning and artistic tour de force that invokes an earlier time in NYC when public and commercial architecture was truly splendid.
Flatiron 1 is also available in my Flatiron in B&W Triptych, the entire suite of all three Flatiron editions sold together at discount.
