7:16pm in the Northern Everglades—one of five limited editions in my Chronology of a Sunset Suite—was captured as I peered out at the Loxahatchee sunset from between two rows of canoes at rest on the water's edge. The contoured sheet metal of the canoes catches and reflects the light in a last moment of resistance before the denouement of day bears witness to the majestic interplay between cloud and sun, between the earth's verdant palette and the sky's molten radiance.
