Worlds in Motion - Munch's Backyard
Worlds in Motion - Munch's Backyard
I deployed a technique called intentional camera movement (ICM) when I captured this shot on the great lawn in my community. Moving the camera slightly upward at the moment of exposure stretched the entire scene, and imposed an ethereal, almost dreamlike effect that not only blurred the image, but blurred any hope for objective interpretation as well.
My first thought was: "This could be Edvard Munch's backyard," an admittedly strange reaction -- born perhaps from the haunting, forbidding shadows in the background juxtaposed against the warm and inviting shades of green up front. But your guess is as good as mine. However interpreted, Munch's Backyard is a beautiful and evocative work of art for your home or office.
