NYC - Atlas Shrugging in B&W

NYC SUITE

Cast at the Roman Bronze Works in Corona Queens and installed in 1937 at the height of the Great Depression, this massive Atlas by sculptor Lee Lawrie rises like a silent sentinel from the courtyard of the International Building at Rockefeller Center -- inspiring generations of Ayn Rands and Diego Riveras alike.

It inspired me one cold winter night in 2008, at least long enough to snap this shot. What a magnificent addition to any den, study, office, conference room, or lobby. Also available in stunning color.
